Like most people, I had never heard of Pelvic PT until exploring multiple health careers. When I learned Pelvic PT can manage many common issues and complaints effectively and without side effects, I was hooked.
These struggles in life: pain with intercourse, urinary leakage, pre-postpartum issues, pelvic pain, urinary urgency and frequency, constipation... all of these difficulties have a large impact on our lives and daily functions and often are neglected or not discussed. I have dedicated my life to bringing these topics and treatments out of the basement and into the light.
I want everyone in my clinic, community and the world to know more about this part of their body so they can do more.
I WANT THE WORLD TO BE PELVIC FORWARD.
A little bit more on how I got here: After graduating from college at Warren Wilson in 2000, I traveled and worked for health nonprofits. I knew I wanted to move to a healthcare field where I could work directly with patients. After a lot of personal research and reflection, I went to Western Carolina University in 2007 with the unique goal of being a pelvic health therapist - I even won a national scholarship because of my passion in this area. Upon graduation I dove head first into creating a pelvic health program from the ground up for an outpatient physical therapy practice in the Asheville, NC area.
Continuing to expand my expertise over the past 14 years has been an amazing journey which led me to teach for the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute and open my own pelvic health practice: Pelvic Forward PT. My goal is to provide comprehensive and patient directed care in the changing medical climate.
The goal is to provide more comprehensive and patient directed care in the changing medical climate.
As a lifelong runner and athlete, I have made treating athletes (including the sport of parenthood) with pelvic floor dysfunction, pain, or desires for optimal performance a focus of the practice.
ready to move forward with your pelvic health ?
